Our Priorities and Needs

If you have expertise in any of the following areas and have time to volunteer, or have ideas on how to acquire the needed educational resources, or would just like to be part of an important organization contributing to the community, please give us a call at 313-532-8404.

Publicity and Marketing
    Assistance with developing a publicity marketing plan for the Sienna Literacy Center.
Fund Development
    Assistance from a Professional Developer to:
    • Write Grants for educational software and hardware.
    • Develop a donor base.
    • Organize and coordinate data on donor base for follow-up in the future.
Communications
    Quarterly newsletter and website (One person could be responsible for both the quarterly and the website):
    • Someone to write, edit, organize, and gather info for submission to our quarterly newsletter.
    • Review and keep current the content of our website, keep it current, and submit updates to the SLC Webmaster.
Office and Clerical Support
    A receptionist to answer the phone, greet and direct visitors, perform light clerical dutie.
Educational Resources
    Seek to acquire more computers that meet our specifications.
    Seek to acquire a server to expand our technology (New or used)
    Educational Software
    • Identify programs that provide instructions and remediation for students, and is accessible by students from home.
    • Identify programs that input, report, evaluate and coordinate data on students’ progress.
