Our Program

Siena Literacy Center offers adult education services in reading, math, English as a Second Language, and digital literacy.

Adult learners are matched with a personal tutor and work with them on an individual curriculum. Most tutors and learners meet at Siena or via video chat once a week for two hours to work toward goals.

Learners also spend time using educational software in our computer lab or from home.

Adult Education:

Reading, Math

This program focuses on foundational skills for adults who want to improve their skills in reading or math to meet their personal or work-related goals. We use a variety of curriculums to best meet learner need.

English as a Second Language

Our English program is for adults who are not native English speakers and wish to improve their conversation, reading, or writing skills. Learners may also prepare for the U.S. citizenship interview and test through this program.

We also partner with the Oak Park Public Library to provide English conversation groups for non-native English speakers who want to practice their conversation skills in a safe and social environment: sign up now

Digital
Literacy

Siena Literacy Center is an official Northstar Digital Literacy training and testing location. Students can take lessons and earn certificates in basic computer skills, using the Internet and email, Microsoft Office, career search skills, and more.
